The french artist Thomas Mailander (1979), has focused his work on playing with now classical concept of typology. A recently deceased famous French critic once compared his work to that of Bernd and Hilla Becer under the influence of Pastis, a local aniseed liquor popular in the south of France. His work has been turning recently toward video and performance employing himself as the main character.// El artista francés Thomas Mailander (1979), ha centrado su trabajo en jugar con el concepto ya clásico de la tipología. Un crítico francés recientemente fallecido, una vez comparó su obra a la de Bernd y Hilla Becer bajo la influencia de Pastis, un licor anisado local, popular en el sur de Francia. Su trabajo se ha ido dirigiendo desde hace poco hacia el vídeo y la performance, empleándose a sí mismo como personaje principal.

Throughout the years of 2000-03 the artist Nicolai Howalt followed young Danish boys boxing in Denmark and abroad. The result is the book ‘Boxer‘. The book portrays a series of young boxers where Howalt’s starting point is to capture the moment before and after the match. A sense of spirit, emotion, expectation and energy characterize the photographs. The double portraits convey the dreams of boyhood, puberty and identity. It is also about the age dividing a boy from being a man.// A lo largo de los años 2000-03, el artista Nicolai Howalt, siguió a muchachos jóvenes daneses boxeando en Dinamarca y el extranjero. El resultado es el libro "Boxer". El libro retrata a una serie de boxeadores jóvenes, en los momentos de antes y después del combate. Un sentido de espíritu, la emoción, la expectativa y energía caracterizan las fotografías. Los retratos dobles transmiten los sueños de la niñez, la pubertad y la identidad. Se trata también de la edad que separa a un niño de ser un hombre.
